Rainer Schwob was born in Innsbruck. Education in piano and church organ. Studies in Musicology and Ancient History at the Universities of Graz and Vienna (Austria), in 2004 doctorate (PhD) in Vienna with a thesis on the reception of Claudio Monteverdi in the 20th century. Research projects on the early reception of Mozart in periodicals, teaching at the University of Vienna. Since 2014 postdoctoral university assistant at Mozarteum University Salzburg with studies in practical interpretations of Mozart’s music. Current research project is a general handbook on interpretation studies (performance studies).
