Sally Walker



Sally Walker is Lecturer in Classical Woodwind, Australian National University, Principal Flautist with the Sydney-based Omega Ensemble, regular guest principal flute with the Australian Chamber Orchestra and the organiser of the Australian sector of the 1:1 Concerts initiative, where she has organised over 400 concerts. She spent ten years in Germany, initially studying in Hanover and Munich on a DAAD scholarship and then played with orchestras including being a substitute with the Berlin Philharmonic, a contract player with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and the City of Birmingham Symphony. She enjoys collaborating with composer and many works have been composed for her, including Elena Kats-Chernin's "Night and Now" flute concerto.
