Vice President @ Frankfurt Book Fair
Holger Volland is the founder of the digital culture festival THE ARTS+ and Vice President of the Frankfurt Book Fair. He is responsible for international business development and heads the book fair’s office in Beijing and the divisions for events and special sales. High culture and digital innovation have always been part of his life. The son of a bookseller and an IT expert, he grew up amidst books and computers. While still at school, he published a school newspaper and worked for publishers.
He studied information science at Freie Universität Berlin and worked as an Internet pioneer at Pixelpark, one of the first multimedia agencies, in Berlin and New York. Later, he was a partner and managing director of a management consultancy and led the New Economy Business School. At the same time, he taught design at the University of Wismar and curated major exhibitions of contemporary art in Argentina and Germany. Over the course of his career, Holger has become known as a bridge between business and creative sectors, and his expertise for developing digital business models have helped numerous companies and organizations. He is also the author of the book “Die kreative Macht der Maschinen“. He has held positions in media such as journalism, radio, television and online development and design and curated numerous exhibitions in Buenos Aires and Berlin.
Holger Volland lives in Frankfurt and is a sought-after speaker and presenter on topics related to digital change and culture. When he’s not in the office, he enjoys travelling, hiking, and brushing up on his photography skills. He enjoys meeting others who share his passion and enthusiasm for new ideas.
